Harrisia cactus is a deliberately growing, jointed, cactus plant. Its runners spread out “like the arms of an octopus”. When the runners touch the ground, they flourish and spread out from that point again. The natural fruit – around 5-8 cm in size – is bright red when ready. It splits open to show its seeds to birds, animals, and insects.

Description

Harrisia cacti can endure partial shade and even some full sun. If keeping indoors, place on a windowsill that gets probably some morning to afternoon sun. In the winter season, shelter the cactus from the cold. Allow the soil to dry out totally before watering it once again.
