Spathiphyllum Black (Peace Lily)

Description

Peace Lily can grow properly even in regions with very low light, although it won’t flower in such conditions. To encourage flowering place your peace lily in a brightly lit spot, but far away from direct daylight.

Use a properly balanced potting mix of 1:1:1 ratio of soil, coco peat, and compost to fertilize the plant. Further supplement with a rich compost/leaf mold that has essential micronutrients once every 3 months.

It will require annual repotting in a barely larger pot.

It can be propagated through splitting sections of the mother plant once it is large enough. Water the peace lily one or two hours before repotting.

Some of the issues faced by these plants are:

• Pruning the yellow leaves from the bottom is essential, but it is essential to deal with the cause of the yellowing leaves. Yellowing of the leaves is an indication of under-watering your peace lily or exposing it to direct daylight. Water once the top part of the soil is dry to touch.
• Both too much and too little water can harm and eventually kill your Peace Lily. Adjust your watering schedule to look your plant safe.
• One other most important reason can be too much direct daylight or overuse of fertilizers that cause the plant to burn.

Plants growing in containers require extra fertilizing than those in the ground. The more you water, the faster you flush the nutrients out of the soil.
