Oxalis triangular, commonly called the false shamrock is a perennial plant in the family Oxalidaceae. This woodsorrel is normally grown as an indoor plant but can be grown outside, preferably in light shade. Actually, its leafage is a very deep purple color. The leaves are triangular and normally grow in clusters of three. At night (or on cloudy days) they wrinkle up almost like an umbrella, but they open up again with the morning light.

Description

Purple Shamrock is very easy to grow in the ground within its growing areas as well as in containers and indoor houseplants. Feed Shamrock throughout your growing season to promote healthy growth. When they are inactive, the vegetation is destroyed. If you see this happening, reduce watering and stop feeding your plant.

Water to keep an even amount of soil humidity on young purple shamrock plants.

Established plants have some drought tolerance and are pardoning if you fail to recall to water.

Use either a slow-release or liquid fertilizer on the plant during its growing stage. Indoors, liquid fertilizer for indoor plants is perfect.
