Description

The jade plant is an evergreen with thick twigs. It has thick, glossy, smooth, leaves that grow in differing pairs along with the twigs. Leaves are rich jade green, although some may seem to be more of a yellow-green. Some varieties may develop a red tinge on the boundaries of leaves when exposed to high levels of daylight. New branch growth is the same color and texture as the leaves but becomes brown and woody with age. Under the right circumstances, they may bloom small white or pink star-like flowers in early spring.

Jade plants propagate freely from both with success rates higher when doing with cuttings. In the wild, it is the jade plant’s primary method of reproduction.
