Description

Calatheas choose indirect daylight. Place it far away from direct sunlight constantly.

A compost that is rich in nitrogen should be given every 3 weeks in summers. In winters, feed the compost once a month.

Report Calathea yearly with a pot one size bigger.

The propagation can be done by division when it has grown big enough. It can also be propagated by stem cuttings.

Some of the issues faced by these plants are:

• Under-watering and excessive utilization of manure both can lead to browning of leaves. Water the plant less often and diminish the use of compost if this issue happens.
• The limp stem is a signal of over-watering or very cold temperatures. Move it to a hotter spot and water it less often.
• Drooping of the leaves occurs sometimes due to over-watering or exposure to cold temperatures. Water the plant in an even time and move it to a hotter spot.
• Plants growing in containers require more fertilizing than those in the ground. The more you water, the more rapidly you flush the nutrients out of the soil.
